كما هنأ جلالته على نجاح هذه العملية وإعادة فتح المعبر أمام المرور الآمن للأشخاص والبضائع من المملكة المغربية في اتجاه الدول الإفريقية جنوب الصحراء.
وبهذه المناسبة، عبر جلالة الملك عبد لله الثاني لجلالة الملك عن رغبة المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية في فتح قنصلية عامة لها بمدينة العيون المغربية. وستقوم وزارتا الخارجية في البلدين بالتنسيق لوضع الترتيبات الضرورية لذلك.
وقد عبر جلالة الملك محمد السادس، نصره الله، لأخيه جلالة الملك عبد الله الثاني، عن تقديره وامتنانه لهذا القرار الهام الذي يندرج في إطار المواقف المؤيدة التي ما فتئت المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية تعبر عنها بشأن قضية وحدة المغرب الترابية”.
