كشفت مصادر إعلامية إسبانية عن تطور التحقيقات في محاولة اغتيال السياسي الإسباني أليخو فيدال كوادراس، وأشارت دات المصادر إلى دخول جهاز الاستخبارات المغربية على الخط بسباب احتمالية هروب منفذ العملية إلى المغرب، حيث كشفت الكاميرات الأمنية عن تورط شخص من أصل تونسي وله سجل جنائي في فرنسا في تنفيذ الجريمة.
وقالت المصادر الاعلامية الكتالونية، أن هناك جهود مبذولة للتعاون مع المخابرات المغربية، من أجل تحديد مكان منفذ العملية، حيث يعتقد هروبه إلى المغرب، أو تمكن من الذهاب إلى بلده الأصلي تونس. وألقت الشرطة الوطنية القبض على ثلاثة أشخاص على صلة بالهجوم (رجلان وامرأة).
وأصيب أليخو فيدال كوادراس، أحد مؤسسي حزب فوكس المتطرف، والزعيم السابق لحزب الشعب الكتالوني، البالغ من العمر 78 عام، برصاصة واحدة على الأقل في وجهه وسط شارع نونيز دي بالبوا، في حي سالامانكا بمدريد، الخميس 9 نونبر الجاري.
